SAN DIEGO – San Diego State water polo’s Mimi Stoupas has a new honor to hang on her wall. The sophomore was named an honorable mention All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for her play during the 2025 season.
Stoupas, who competed in each of the team’s 30 games, led the Aztecs with 73 goals, a .603 shot percentage, 69 exclusions drawn and 29 steals. She was second on the squad with 121 shots and 92 points.
The Melbourne, Australia native, and first team All-Golden Coast Conference (GCC) performer, finished the year ranked No. 4 in goals, No. 6 in goals per game, No. 10 in points in the league. She was the 18th first-team honoree in the program’s 12 seasons in the GCC.
The product of Caulfield Grammar School in Melbourne had at least a hat trick in 12 contests, among 20 games in which she has scored multiple goals, and twice: against California Baptist on Jan. 18 and again on Feb. 14, totaled six goals, matching a team-best for the season and establishing a new career-high. Stoupas reached the 100 career-goal plateau in her 59th career game, vs. UC San Diego on April 19.
Stoupas is the first Aztec to earn ACWPC All-American honors since Karlie Canale, Rose Kanemy and Lauren Padilla were recognized following the 2022 season.
