SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis has added four transfers and one freshman to its 2025-26 roster, signing Lars Johann out of Nebraska, Aleksi Lofman and Brock Anderson out of LSU, Imran Daniel Hazli from Baylor and William Kleege of Torrey Pines High School.
Johann joins the Aztecs from Nebraska after completing three seasons with the Huskers. The incoming senior out of Saarbruecken, Germany amassed 46 singles and 38 doubles wins in Lincoln, going 16-9 in singles and 17-8 in doubles during the 2024-25 season in which Nebraska finished ranked 39th in the nation. He also claimed Big Ten Individual Singles Runner-Up after opening the year with an 8-4 singles record. Some notable victories include a 7-5, 6-1 win over Baylor’s No. 64 Zsombor Velcz and a 6-2 win over the Bears’ ninth-ranked doubles duo Miladinovic/Poulsen.
Lofman and Anderson both come to The Mesa as rising juniors from LSU. A Helsinki, Finland native, Lofman earned 18 singles and 23 doubles wins in his first two seasons, playing on the top four courts for the Tigers. In February 2025, Lofman and his doubles partner defeated the fourth-ranked doubles team in the country, Texas A&M’s Papamalamis/Tokac, by a score of 6-4. In singles, Lofman took down No. 15 Tennessee’s Alejandro Moreno, 6-4, 6-4 in the fourth spot.
Anderson tallied 20 singles and 15 doubles victories through two seasons in Baton Rouge. The junior from Mercer Island, Wash. held a 9-7 dual singles record in his sophomore year, earning a win over then-No. 34 Vanderbilt’s Tighe Brunetti, 6-4, 6-2 on court six. He also defeated No. 15 Tennessee’s Jan Kobierski and Jose Garcia 6-2 on court three alongside his doubles partner.
Hazli, a sophomore transfer out of Baylor’s 19th-ranked 2025 squad, comes to San Diego State with a 9-4 career doubles record and 5-6 in singles. He went 5-1 in doubles at the ITA D1 Texas Regional Championships. Hazli also recorded a dual singles win with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Prairie View A&M’s Devyn Gans.
Kleege joins the Aztecs as the lone incoming freshman. The San Diego native graduated from Torrey Pines High School in 2025 and has a CIF Individual Doubles Championship under his belt, in addition to First Team All-CIF Boys Tennis honors.
The five newcomers join San Diego State’s returning senior Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice and sophomores Marc Kleber and Denis Maijorov.
