SAN DIEGO – San Diego State junior two-meter Mimi Stoupas scored 19 goals in four games last weekend en route to earning the first 2026 Golden Coast Conference (GCC) Player of the Week honor. The conference made the announcement on Thursday morning.
Stoupas led the 21st-ranked Aztecs to a 3-1 record at the Titan Invitational last weekend and in addition to her goals, added nine steals and 12 drawn exclusions. She shot a team-leading 67.9 percent (19-of-28) and added an assist and two blocks.
As the weekend progressed, Stoupas’ offense got stronger. In each of the team’s two Friday games, a win 15-9 against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and a 23-16 loss to No. 6 Long Beach State, the Melbourne, Australia native, scored four time and then on Saturday she had a five-goal effort in a 17-8 win over Biola and wrapped up the event with six goals in a 19-8 victory against the tournament host Cal State Fullerton.
This is the third GCC Player of the Week honor of Stoupas’ career.
