RENO, Nev. – The San Diego State women’s basketball team (20-4, 14-1) won at Nevada 78-64 (8-17, 4-11) 78-64 Saturday for their 20th win of the season. The Aztecs led by as much as 37 points in the third quarter before the Wolf Pack made a run in the fourth quarter with SDSU’s reserves in the game.
The Aztecs improved to 14-1 in Mountain West play and 8-1 on the road. Through three quarters they were shooting 55% from the floor while holding the Wolf Pack to a 30% clip.
“I’m proud of our ability to win on the road this year,” Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said after the game. “We’ve been much more consistent on the road, and we played really good basketball for about 30 minutes today.”
The Aztecs displayed their depth with five players scoring in double-digits and a sixth scoring nine points. Kennedy Lee, a Nevada transfer, and Maria Konstantinidou each scored 12 points. Konstantinidou was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, and her 12 points was a season-high.
Naomi Panganiban, Kaelyn Hamilton and Nala Williams each added 10 points with Williams surpassing 1,700 points and 600 rebounds for her career. Bailey Barnhard chipped in nine points with a career-high four assists.
SDSU had seven players score in the first quarter and led by eight points after 10 minutes. They put the game out of reach with a 14-2 run to start the second quarter, giving them a 20-point lead. The Aztecs held the Wolf Pack to seven points in the second frame.
SDSU committed just one turnover in the first half and only had three through quarters, pushing their lead to as much as 37 points late in the third.
The Aztecs pulled their starters in the fourth and Nevada outscored SDSU 29-9 in the final 10 minutes.

THE NOTE I
With the win, the Aztecs improved to 20-4 on the year and clinched a first round bye in the Mountain West tournament. It’s the fourth straight 20+ win season for SDSU.

Maria Konstantinidou scored a season-high 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting. She became the seventh Aztec in the Mountain West era (since 1999) to shoot 100% from the field while making at least six shots.
