FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A contingent of four San Diego State divers competed in the 1-meter springboard event on Monday to open the 2026 NCAA Zone E Championships at Wall Aquatic Center on the campus of Northern Arizona University.
Isabella Gomez was the lone Aztec to advance to the final round, placing 13th overall with an aggregate total of 513.55, climbing four spots from the preliminary session where she compiled a score of 253.35.
Earlier in the day, Meja Palmer finished 23rd (242.85) in the preliminaries, just ahead of teammate Alina Skrocki (242.80), who was slotted 24th, while Belen Cano (239. 40) followed closely in the 26th position out of 52 entrants.
The top-18 finishers in the initial round earned a spot in the final session, with the 18th-place diver amassing 252.25 points.
The NCAA Zone E Championships resume on Tuesday for SDSU with 3-meter springboard competition. Gomez, Cano and Skrocki will represent the Aztecs in the preliminary round, which gets underway at 11:30 a.m. PDT to be followed by the finals later in the afternoon.
