LAS ANGELES, CALIF. – San Diego State women’s track and field will head up the coast to compete in a pair of meets hosted by the Bruins of UCLA. The Aztecs will first see action on Friday evening at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival before the rest of the team suits up for the Jim Bush Legends meet that will run all day Saturday. San Diego State will send 40 student-athletes to Los Angeles to compete across 51 individual entries as well as two entries in the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.

One of the main storylines of the weekend will be the 2026 San Diego State debut for a trio of all-conference performers. Jenna Fee Feyerabend competed unattached during the indoor season. She returns to the team as the 2025 Mountain West Indoor pentathlon gold medalist and 2024 Mountain West Outdoor heptathlon champion. Jada Pierre will also return to action after an unattached appearance during the indoor season. At the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Championships she secured a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles while also getting on the podium with a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Charlize James will make her much anticipated 2026 debut in both the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. The 2025 Mountain West Indoor gold medalist and 2025 Outdoor silver medalist will be back on the track for the Aztecs.

Overall, 10 Aztecs will compete in multiple events. Ana Luisa Couto Soares Ferraz will lead the Aztecs with three individual entries in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and shot put. Among the teams SDSU will compete against are Arizona, Nevada, UCLA, UNLV, Oregon and various NCAA Division II programs.

The Bob Larsen Distance Carnival will begin on Friday at 6:00 p.m. PST while the Jim Bush Legends meet begins on Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m. PST with Feyerabend getting the day started in the high jump.

Individual Notes

  • Jenna Fee Feyerabend and Jada Pierre return to action for the Aztecs. Pierre is the reigning gold medalist for the 100-meter hurdles. Feyerabend won gold in the Heptathlon two years in a row.
  • This will be the most Aztec’s competing at a single meet this year with over 51 individual entries spread across 40 athletes.
  • Charlize James returns from injury to make her first appearance of the 2026 season.
