COLUMBUS, Ga. -- San Diego State men’s golfer Harry Takis (Brisbane, Australia) has been named to the 2026 Haskins Award presented by Stifel Spring Watch List, the Haskins Foundation announced Monday. Takis is one of 20 players on the spring watch list for the award, which goes out to the outstanding college golfer.

On the season, Takis is the top-ranked player in the latest Scoreboard powered by clippd computer ratings, released Wednesday. He is averaging 69.33 strokes per round across four tournaments and 12 rounds in 2025-26. Out of his four tournaments, he tied for second at the Sahalee Players Championship on Sept. 6-7, won the Southwestern Invitational on Jan. 26-28, took second at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Feb. 12-14 and then tied for seventh at the Southern Highlands Collegiate on March 1-3.

The others on the spring watch list include Adam Bresnu (Texas Tech), Mahanth Chirravuri (Pepperdine), Ryder Cowan (Oklahoma), Josh Duangmanee (Virginia), Erich Fortlage (Arkansas), Connor Graham (Texas Tech), Ben James (Virginia), William Jennings (Alabama), Bryan Kim (Duke), Jackson Koivun (Auburn), Bryan Lee (Virginia), Christiaan Maas (Texas), Michael Mjaaseth (Arizona State), Luke Potter (Texas), Preston Stout (Oklahoma State), Arni Sveinsson (LSU), Tim Wiedemeyer (Texas Tech), Connor Williams (Arizona State) and Wells Williams (Vanderbilt).

Beginning in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top collegiate golfer as voted on by players, coaches, members of the college golf media, and past Haskins Award winners. The award is named after Fred Haskins, a club pro that spent his life nurturing and mentoring amateur golfers. Past winners of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.

Notable past winners include Ben Crenshaw (1971-73), Curtis Strange (1974), Bobby Clampett (1979-80), Phil Mickelson (1990-92), David Duval (1993), Justin Leonard (1994), Stewart Cink (1995), Tiger Woods (1996), Matt Kuchar (1998), Luke Donald (1999), Russell Henley (2010), Patrick Cantlay (2011), Justin Thomas (2012), Beau Hossler (2016), Sahith Theegala (2020), Chris Gotterup (2022) and Ludvig Aberg (2023).

Fifteen players will make the postseason watch list and 10 players will make the final watch list on May 22. A player does not need to appear on a previous watch list to be considered for any future watch lists. The 3rd Annual Haskins Honors presentation will take place at The Grand Blanc (adjacent to the 1st green at Omni La Costa) on Wednesday, May 27 for the 10 Finalists, their coach, and their parents. All Division I players, coaches, and golf SIDs are eligible to vote for the Haskins Award. Voting for the 2026 Haskins Award will conclude on Monday, June 1 at the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championships.
