SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis landed five players on this year’s All-Mountain West team, the conference announced on Tuesday. Jo-Yee Chan and Gloria Alogo earned singles honors while Chan/Vessa Turley and Jayna Clemens/Ninon Martinache were recognized in doubles.

This is the second consecutive all-conference singles distinction for Chan. As a senior, the Aztec amassed an impressive 21-8 overall record and 5-1 against Mountain West opponents. Taking the top court for the entirety of the season, Chan finished with a 10-4 dual match record.

Chan paired up with freshman Vessa Turley in doubles competition and the Aztec duo notched a 24-6 overall record and 13-4 on the top court this spring, including 7-2 in conference play. Their performance in the fall, including an ITA Conference Masters doubles championship, sent the pair to their first career NCAA Championships. In addition to making the all-conference team, Chan was a three-time recipient of Mountain West Player of the Week this season while Turley earned Freshman of the Week honors on one occasion.

In singles competition, Alogo holds an 11-6 overall record and 7-2 in dual matches. She went undefeated in Mountain West matchups, going 3-0 on courts two and three. Her performance in spots 2-4 helped lead the Aztecs to one of their most successful seasons in program history and their second consecutive regular season conference championship.

Clemens and Martinache have also been a vital part of San Diego State’s success this year. The duo played on court two in doubles competition, tallying a 16-5 overall record and 9-4 in the spring, collecting four conference wins along the way.

The Aztecs finished the regular season 18-3 and 10-1 in the Mountain West. They kick off the Mountain West Championships this week as the No. 1 overall seed, taking on the winner of No. 8 Wyoming vs. No. 9 New Mexico at 10 a.m. on Thursday in Las Vegas.
