2025 SEASON (As a Freshman): Pitched in 19 games during his first year on The Mesa, earning one start… Posted an 0-2 record with a 5.89 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 18.1 innings… Gave up one walk or less in 16 appearances, allowing 18 bases on balls for the season… Made his collegiate debut against Grand Canyon at the MLB Desert Invitational, where he yielded one hit in 0.2 innings (2-15-25)… Tossed a season-long 3.1 scoreless and hitless innings vs. Seattle, offsetting two walks with a career-high three strikeouts in SDSU’s home opener (2-20-25)… Received his first career starting assignment vs. CSUN in the Aztecs’ final midweek game of the year (5-6-25)… Tied his collegiate best with three strikeouts vs. Nevada in his final appearance of the year at the Mountain West Championship in Mesa, Arizona (5-22-25).
PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2024 from Westview High School where he won three varsity letters for head coach Brian Stimpson… Posted a 3-3 record with a 2.45 ERA and one save in 54.1 innings pitched as a senior, according to MaxPreps... Struck out 68 batters against 18 walks while limiting opponents to a .187 batting average… Received a No. 32 ranking among left-handed pitchers in California for the 2024 high school signing class by Perfect Game and was rated among the top 400 at his position nationally… Earned preseason All-America honorable mention for the California region by Perfect Game prior to the 2024 campaign… Played for the California Lookouts club program as well as the SoCal Redbirds… Also drew interest from UC San Diego during the recruiting process.
PERSONAL: Born in San Diego, California… Son of Douglas and Angela Shaw… Enjoys playing golf… Lists Paul Skenes as his favorite athlete… Intended major is kinesiology with plans to become a physical therapist following his baseball career.
