Hall of Fame Class of 2009

One of the most decorated student-athletes in San Diego State history.

Maiberger, who was a four-year letterwinner for the Aztecs, won five All-America honors from the 1999-00 through 2002-03 seasons. He will assist Gene Carswell in all aspects of the program.

No player ushered in the current era of Aztec tennis success like Maiberger. His laundry list of accolades make him one of the most decorated athletes in the school's history: Five All-America honors, Three-Time Conference Player of the Year, Four-Time All-Conference Singles, Three-Time All-Conference Doubles, and 12-Time Conference Player of the Week.

Maiberger helped lead San Diego State to a 65-38 (63.1 percent) record and three NCAA Tournament appearances in his three seasons. He ended his career as the Aztec leader in singles victories (111), singles winning percentage (79.9 percent), doubles victories (103), and doubles team victories (59).

Maiberger saved his best play for the grand slam events where he teamed with Ryan Redondo to claim the school's first tennis grand slam victory in the 2001 Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Farmers Branch, Texas.

During his senior campaign, he ascended to the number one ranked doubles team in the country.
