Fall: Posted four top-five finishes during the fall schedule, including medalist honors at the District 7 Fall Shootout ... His 54-hole total of 201 (-12) at the Fall Shootout set a new school record ... Won the title on the third playoff hole against Boise State[apos]s Troy Merritt ... Tied for third at the Topy Cup with three-round total of 213 (-3) ... Fired a season-low score of 66 in the second round of the District 7 Shootout and the opening round of the Barona Collegiate Cup ... Recorded a team-low stroke average of 70 over the 15 rounds in five events.Spring:
Named a PING All-American honorable mention after an outstanding spring campaign where he had three top-five finishes and led the team with 71.25 stroke average ... Was the program[apos]s first All-American since 2001 ... Also garnered all-Mountain West Conference honors as well ... Carded a 66, his lowest round of 2007, in the second round of the ASU Thunderbird Invite ... His three-round score of 207 and fourth-place finish at the ASU Thunderbird Invite was his best efforts of the spring ... Gained MWC Golfer of the Month honors in March ... Fall: Posted two top-20 finishes during the fall campaign... Fired an opening-round 69 en route to a 4-over 217 and a seventh-place tie at the Fresno State Lexus Classic... Also carded a 69 during the third round of the Barona Collegiate Cup, tying for 27th with a 5-under 211... Was the Aztecs[apos] second-best finisher at the UH Fall Intercollegiate in Hawaii, tying for 12th with a 3-over 219.Spring:Earned all-Mountain West Conference accolades, following a highly productive spring in which he posted four top-10 finishes... Recorded a season-best finish at the Oregon Duck Invitational, where he tied for third to help SDSU claim its third team tournament title of the year... Placed fifth at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational with a 6-under 207 on rounds of 70-65-72... His second-round 65 tied him for third on the school[apos]s all-time list for the lowest 18-hole score... Shot a 2-over 215 at the Ashworth Collegiate to finish in a seventh-place tie... Tied for 10th at the Callaway Golf Invitational with a 7-over 223... Carded a 4-over 220 at the MWC championships, finishing tied for 14th... Was one of four Aztecs, along with Andrew Scott, Josh Warthen and David Palm, to play in all 38 rounds during the season... Ranked second on the team with a 72.58 stroke average for the year... Also had the squad[apos]s second-best score-in-relation-to-par (SCIRP) at +2.69... Finished the season ranked 137th nationally by Golfweek/Sagarin ... Received MWC all-academic honors.
2004-05 Season
Fall: Played in just one tournament for the Aztecs... Carded a 4-over 220 at UCLA[apos]s Gold Rush... Shot a 72 in the second round of that event... Was one of four scholar-athletes on the Aztec men[apos]s golf team.
Spring: Did not compete.
Summer: Qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links after winning the sectional tournament in San Diego with a 141... Participated in the 2005 CGA Amateur Championships and tallied a first-round 74.
2003-04 Season
Fall: Competed in three events for SDSU and recorded a 74.00 stroke average with all nine of his rounds counting towards the team score in his first season of collegiate golf... Posted his top finish at the Opus NW Husky Invitational where he placed 23rd with a total of 8-over 224... Fired a 3-under 69, his low round of the season, in the final round of the Husky tournament... Delivered his lowest score at the Barona Collegiate Cup, a 4-over par 220, including rounds of 71 and 72 to finish the tournament... Began the year with a 6-over 222 at the William H. Tucker to place 34th.
Spring: After seeing limited varsity in the fall, became one of State[apos]s most consistent performers in the spring... Finished second on the team with a stroke average of 72.30 in 23 rounds... Had four top-10 finishes and was among a tournament[apos]s top 20 golfers on nine occasions... Claimed his most prestigious career title when he won the U.S. Intercollegiate at Stanford... Completed the event with an 8-under 205 on rounds of 68-70-67... Won his first-ever tournament in North County when he fired a 69-70 (-3) to win the Aztec Battle at the Lake... Finished 10th at the MWC championships with a 4-over 220 at Sunriver, Ore.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at La Costa Canyon High School under coach Steve Armstrong... Earned Future Collegiate World Tour first-team All-American honors his senior year... Was an all-CIF section pick and all-Avocado League honoree... Led the Mavericks to three runner-up finishes and a third place showing at the state tournament in his four years.
Personal: Aaron David Goldberg is the son of Bruce and Tanya Goldberg... Born on July 19, 1985... Enjoys surfing, football and basketball... Was the 2005-06 recipient of the Frank Scott Athletic Endowment... Majoring in finance at SDSU.
