Clayre Shaver joined the Aztec staff as director of volleyball operations on Aug. 3, 2026.

In her role, Shaver manages team travel and recruiting logistics while assisting with budgeting, gameday operations, student-athlete support and social media.

A native of Milford, Michigan, Shaver arrives in “America’s Finest City” after spending two seasons as director of operations for the women’s basketball program at her alma mater Eastern Illinois University.

Among her numerous responsibilities, Shaver lent her support to the Panthers coaching staff with practice operations, recruiting, travel and logistics while assisting with program budgeting, financial tracking and expense management.

Additionally, Shaver helped manage gameday operations, including visiting team logistics, ticketing, facility access and scheduling. She also served as primary liaison for university departments and external vendors while overseeing student-athlete academics and compliance operations.

A former Division I student-athlete, Shaver was a four-year competitor in throws on the EIU indoor and outdoor track and field teams, qualifying for the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on seven occasions. During the 2024 outdoor season, she set a personal-best mark of 167-3 in the hammer throw, which ranks 10th in program history.

In addition, Shaver gained valuable leadership experience as a three-year member of the EIU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as president during the 2023-24 campaign. She was also a two-year board member of the Ohio Valley Conference SAAC (2022-24) and was the OVC’s secondary SAAC representative to the NCAA for the 2023-24 academic year.

Shaver received two degrees from Eastern Illinois, earning a master’s in sports administration in 2026 after completing her bachelor's in sports management with a minor in business administration in 2024.
