Following a four-year collegiate career at Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB), Morgan Tucker joined the water polo staff in January 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach.
Tucker, a team captain for her final three seasons as an Otter, played in a total of 105 games. She finished with 139 goals on 376 shots in her career, which rank fifth on the program’s career goals and shots lists. In addition, she compiled 56 exclusions drawn (No. 8), 155 points (No. 11), 64 steals and 21 field blocks which are each No. 15 in the career lists.
Her 71 goals, 171 shots, 73 points and 32 exclusions drawn in her senior season, are seventh, ninth, 15th and 16th respectively on the program’s single season lists.
After her senior season, she was honored as an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) honorable mention Division II All-American and earned an ACWPC All-Academic Award. She was included on the 2016 Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) All-Freshman Team and in 2017 was a member of the WWPA All-Tournament Team.
In addition to her contribution in the pool, Tucker was four-year Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member and in her final two years served as its co-President at CSUMB.
Tucker’s high school career was conducted at San Diego’s Clairemont High School where she was a two-time Central League (CL) champion and a first-team CL performer as a junior. Twice she was the team MVP and as a senior was the CL and All-CIF Division II MVP.
Her coaching resume includes Carmel (Calif.) High School, where she was the head coach of the junior varsity team and organized tournaments for both her team and the varsity squad. On a club level, she led the Sunset Water Polo Club’s 18U Girls team and helped lead them to a second-place finish at the Hawaiian Invitational Water Polo Tournament in the summer of 2018.
Tucker earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science from CSUMB in May 2019.
