Tim Lanski joined San Diego State’s leadership team in June 2018 and currently serves as the Deputy Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Experience.

In his current role, Lanski provides executive oversight of Academic Support Services, Student-Athlete Development and Life Skills, Compliance, NIL and Revenue Share, Sports Medicine, Sport Performance, Equipment Services, and Athletics Information Technology. He also serves as sport administrator for Baseball, Softball, and Men’s Soccer, working closely with coaches and campus partners to support student-athlete success and alignment with broader university priorities.

Since joining SDSU, Lanski has held progressive leadership roles and contributed to department-wide initiatives during a period of significant change in intercollegiate athletics. His work has included strategic planning for the implementation of the House settlement, development of NIL and revenue-share frameworks, and conference realignment preparedness. He is also involved in revenue generation, capital project planning, and a multi-year competitiveness study designed to support long-term sustainability.

Prior to his current role, Lanski served as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance & NIL and Associate Athletics Director for Compliance at San Diego State, where he oversaw athletics compliance operations and led the implementation of the university’s first NIL program. Earlier in his career, he held athletics administration roles at California State University, Northridge, the University of Mississippi, and the University of California, Riverside.

A native of Southern California, Lanski was a four-year NCAA student-athlete at California State University San Bernardino. He holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology, Sport Management from California Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business & Administration from California State University San Bernardino. A former Board member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), Lanski remains active in national athletics leadership organizations and professional development programs.
