San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher
On the game:

"We did a good job of dictating the pace of the game. (Assistant coach) Brian Dutcher made the comment that one of the teams was going to start on our heals. Rather then lay back, we chose to come out hard, setting screens and being a little more aggressive on how we guarded. I thought we did a nice job of not letting (UNLV) get many good looks and easy penetration."

On SDSU's defense:
"We are really guarding the basketball really effectively lately. We also did a good job of contesting shots. We flew at them, and used our length and athleticism to make what looked like an open shot a pretty hard shot."

On SDSU's shooting:
"We're playing with a lot of confidence now. Our kids are shooting the ball better, are more confident when they get the ball in their sweet spot and they're able to make shots. We are fighting hard. We're a pretty good team right now. I just hope we can keep getting better, especially come Saturday at Wyoming."

On forcing turnovers:
"When they started to penetrate down the lane, we stuck out long arms out there. We didn't give them too many good looks."

San Diego State forward Mohamed Abukar
On the game:

"It looked at this game tonight as a must win. We came out with a lot of energy, a lot of focus. It was a good team win for us.

"It's always more fun when you win games. We're playing harder and we're playing smarter. It's all coming together for us.

"Getting a chance to be out there with my team tonight was great. We played well. We played a lot better this time around. We guarded a lot better this time around. We are definitely a force to be reckoned with. The ball is rolling. We're having fun with what we are doing. .. Hopefully we can keep it going.

"Every possession counts. We had a low turnover amount. We took care of the ball. On the other end, we forced them to turn the ball over. It was fun. It was one of those fun games that we were excited and amped for. It turned out well for us."

San Diego State forward Lorrenzo Wade
On the difference between the Air Force and UNLV games:

"They are two different teams. UNLV is an uptempo team, they like to get up and down and Air Force likes to run their offense. I believe as a whole we played pretty decent transition defense. That helped us a lot during this game as well as getting into the gaps."

UNLV Head Coach Lon Kruger
On the game:

"They physically knocked us around and kind of did what they wanted to for much of the first half. We had a little bit of spark about us in the second half, but not nearly (as much) as we need to have to beat a good ballclub on the road."

On UNLV's play:
"We were disappointed with most of everything. (SDSU) were quicker with the ball, they were more physical on the boards and much more physical defensively across the board. They were a much more physical team. When we don't respond to that, they can be more dominating."
