San Diego State alumnus Kyle Moretti was named a graduate assistant by head Coach Sean Lewis on January 28, 2025. A linebacker on the 2024 Aztecs, he will assist with the SDSU defense.
Moretti transferred to The Mesa as part of Coach Lewis' first recruiting class for the 2024 season. In his one season donning the Scarlet and Black, he totaled 60 tackles (28 solo) appearing in all 12 games with three starts. He also tallied three tackles for loss and a sack during his senior campaign.
Prior to SDSU, he was a two-time all-MAC selection as a member of Central Michigan. As a true freshman in 2021, he helped the Chippewas to a Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl victory over Washington State finishing the season as the co-MAC West champions and a 9-4 overall record. He would go on to to earn third team all-MAC selections in both 2022 and 2023 as well as a defensive player of the week honor in the 2023 season. In his three seasons at CMU, he appeared in 34 games recording 207 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, seven pass breakups, one fumble forced and one fumble recovery.
