As a Sophomore (2023-24 Season)
Appeared in 34 games, all off the bench… Averaged 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game… Added 31 assists, 27 steals and 20 blocks in a total of 477:55 of court action… Shot 38.0 percent (46-of-121) from the floor, 31.1 percent (23-of-74) from the bonus distance and 84.6 percent (22-of-26) from the line… Recorded his first two double digit scoring games with a career-high 13 at New Mexico (1/13) and 10 at Utah State (2/20)… Had 10 games where he knocked down multiple field goals including a career-best five at New Mexico… Twice, at New Mexico and vs. Yale (3/24) in the NCAA Tournament, knocked down three-3-pointers, a season and career-high, among three games where he had multiple 3-points makes… Went 4-of-4 from the line on two occasions, vs. California (11/25) and at Boise State (1/20) and in nine of the 13 games in which he attempted a free throw, he was perfect from the charity stripe… Pulled down a career-best three offensive rebounds vs. Boise State (3/8)… In 25 games with multiple defensive boards, he grabbed a career-high five against St. Katherine (12/19) and vs. New Mexico (3/16) in the Mountain West Tournament… His career-best, six rebounds, came vs. St. Katherine and New Mexico (3/16), among 17 multi-rebound games… Matched his single-game best of six assists vs. New Mexico (2/16) and added nine additional multi-assists efforts… Posted three games with two or more blocks, including a season and career-high vs. New Mexico (2/16) as well as a three-block game vs. New Mexico (3/16) in the Mountain West Tournament and a two block effort against Nevada (1/17) and at UNLV (3/14) in the Mountain West Tournament… Totaled a career-high two steals in six contests; at Grand Canyon (12/5), vs. UC Irvine (12/9), vs. Stanford (12/21), at New Mexico (1/13), at Utah State (2/20), and vs. San Jose State (2/27)… Saw double digit minutes in 26 games, including four games of at least 20 minutes and a career-high 22:57 at Gonzaga (12/29).

As a Freshman (2022-23 Season)
Appeared in four games all off the bench… Averaged 4.3 points and 0.5 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game… Added six assists and two steals in 40:18 of total action… Shot 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from the floor, 28.6 percent (2-of-7) from the bonus distance and 50.0 percent (1-of-2) from the line… Saw a season-high 19:35 of floor time vs. Occidental (12/2)… Twice, vs. Occidental and Kennesaw State (12/12), knocked down a single-game best three field goals… Both his 3-pointers came vs. Occidental as did his seven 3-point attempts… Made his collegiate debut vs. CSU Fullerton where he knocked down his first field goal attempt… Recorded a season-best eight points and dished out a single-game high six assists vs. Occidental… Steals came against Occidental and Kennesaw State… Rebounds, both on the defensive end, came against Occidental and UC San Diego (12/20).

High School
A 2022 graduate of Lincoln High School in Stockton, Calif…. A four-star prospect according to 247 Sports who was rated, at the time of his signing, the No. 89 recruit nationally, the No. 20 shooting guard and No. 10 overall in California… In three varsity seasons, according to MaxPreps, his teams went a combined 58-11, including 26-4 in Tri-City Athletic League (TCAL) action and, as a senior, won the TCAL title for the first time since 2018 and won its first playoff game since 2013… He led the program to the state playoffs for the first time since 1982… As a senior was a McDonald’s All-American nominee, named first team All-Northern California by MaxPreps, first-team all-state by CalHiSports and the SacHiSports Winter Player of the Year, TCAL co-Most Valuable Player of the Year… In the classroom, earned inclusion on the West team of the All-Academic All-America Game as a senior and was an honor roll designee in six of his eight high school semesters… In his senior campaign he averaged 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.2 blocks according to MaxPreps… In a shortened junior campaign, due to COVID, he averaged 16.8 points, 6.8 rebounds 3.5 assists, 3.5 steals and 2.2 blocks… The son of Jodie and Calvin Byrd… Father Calvin played collegiately at Villanova and professionally both internationally and in the United States… Sister Alex plays volleyball at Stanislaus State… Chose San Diego State over the likes of Villanova, Washington, Minnesota, Saint Mary’s, and Colorado State among others.
