Earned three varsity letters at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, Wash., where he compiled 1,625 career points, ranking second in school history... Finished second in Bellarmine Prep history for career steals... As a senior, he averaged 29.7 points per game, while shooting 48.0 percent from the field and 88.0 percent from the free throw line... Added 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists an outing in his last season... His 743 points in his final year set a Bellarmine Prep single-season scoring record, breaking the mark set by current NBA player, Avery Bradley, in 2008... That season, he helped lead the Lions to a 20-6 overall mark (12-0 league), as the team fell in the 4A Regionals... In four 4A West Central District tournament games, he scored 149 points, averaging 37.0 points per game, breaking the tournament scoring record... Following his senior season, he was named the Washington state player of the year for all classifications by the Associated Press, as well as the AP's State 4A Player of the Year and to the AP's first team all-State... Also named the Tacoma News Tribune All-Area Player of the Year, Class 4A Narrows League MVP and Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches' Association 4A Player of the Year.
